This month’s Studio Calico kit was another one of those that I didn’t think I’d like that well from the photos, but once I got it I loved it. That’s the best. I got the main kit, add-on 1, add-on 3 and the Project Life kit. I don’t do Project Life myself, but I loved the PL cards and thought they’d be perfect for my layouts and cards, and I was right. My friend Nicole Samuels has put together an awesome class over at Studio Calico, Bright Ideas. I had a ton of fun making my page for the class – my prompt was a lot of fun to work with. Here’s a little peek at my prject.
Here’s some more info: In a creative slump? Find your way out with these BRIGHT IDEAS! Nicole Samuels will be guiding you through 20 creative challenges designed to make you look at paper and glue in a whole new light. We’ve brought together an awesome group of contributors – Adrienne Alvis, Amy Tan, Gillian Nelson, Jen Jockisch, Laura Kurz, Lexi Bridges, Lisa Truesdell, Paige Evans, Shannon Tidwell and Tina Aszmus – to help bring her challenges to life and give you even more ways to play with your supplies. Nicole and her contributors have a wide range of styles – from simple to detailed – and all have a way of looking outside the box when using their supplies. A new PDF will be posted each weekday in February – you can work at your own pace, or challenge yourself to tackle one each day! Each PDF will contain a challenge designed to stretch your creativity: a new layout from Nicole or one of her contributors, a sketch, and extra ideas and inspiration from Nicole. In addition, Nicole will be posting a video each Wednesday sharing more bright ideas pulled from her own layouts or layouts in the class gallery. Students will also receive printables from Hello Forever and In A Creative Bubble, and diecut files (.studio, .png and .svg) from Nicole and Kinsey Wilson. Hi there! I wanted to share the layouts I created for the Studio Calico booth at CHA this year. I got to work with Sundrifter, Snippets and Here and There and I LOVED them all. Here’s what I made.
This page was made with the Here & There line. I love the bright bold colors and the fun patterns. I’ll have a little more info soon on how I used the chevron mask on this page.
This one was made with Snippets. I LOVE those day of the week cards.
That photo of Ayla in her indian hat could not have been more perfect for the Sundrifter line. Love the soft and subtle colors and patterns.

Love, love, love all of these layouts! Thanks for inspiring me I had the pleasure of being asked by Jodi from Fancy Pants to do some booth work with their new lines for CHA Winter. I of course agreed because I always love Fancy Pants, and this time was no exception! Here’s a few of my projects – I worked with the Trendsetter line (my fave!), Swagger (super fun!), Down by the Shore and Park Bench.
This is the Trendsetter line. I love the colors and the graphics.
I used Down by the Shore for this page. I love those little fish rub-ons and all the embellishments. I also used some of the stencils for this page – those are probably my favorite item!
This is Fancy Pants brag book – I love the size of this album and the inside has divided sheet protectors, pocket pages, and journaling pages. There are so many options with this book! I covered mine with some fabric I had lying around.
This card and tag was made with Park Bench – love the navy and yellow color scheme and the embellishments.
These last cards were made with the Swagger line – these are so much fun! I love the mustaches and the masculine color scheme. Thanks for stopping by!

I had the pleasure of meeting my friend Maggie Holmes this summer at CHA. Besides being an amazing scrapbooker, she is also lovely, kind, amazingly well put together, and a lot of fun. So when I heard her big announcement, that she has teamed up with Crate Paper to design and produce a signature line of scrapbooking products, I couldn’t have been more thrilled for her.
