The lovely and sweet Heidi from Freehand Scraps asked me to guest design for her site this month. I was very flattered, and very excited when I saw the kit. I've never used any Cosmo Cricket, but have always wanted to, and this kit is loaded with it.I also found out that Heidi and I don't live very far from each other so we're gonna try to get together sometime soon.
I didn't even realize until I started making this page for Prima that this is IT. It is the ONLY photo I have of all 4 generations; my Mom passed away just 5 months after it was taken. And that's really inexcusable because we all lived within 20 miles of each other. So often when my family gets together I just want to shoot candids; no posed, group shots for me. But you know what? This photo is completely posed; I'm still bearing 20 lbs. extra from the birth of my daughter 2 weeks before, it's certainly not the best photo in the world. So I guess my point is that while I prefer candids, sometimes you just need to smoosh together and say 'cheese'.
Just wanted to share a couple things. First up, Sassafrass has a few sneaks up on their blog. But here's a couple too in case you can't wait.
Can you say YUMMMMMMM?? I love CHA time.
Also, Heidi from Freehand Scraps was kind enough to ask me to guest design for them for August. The kit goes live August 1st, but here are some peaks in the meantime.
Brad and I are off tomorrow for a few blissful days of camping, reading, kayaking and just being together. Ayla gets to stay with Grandma, and while I'll miss her like crazy, I can't wait to spend some time with my husband, just the two of us.
Re: Harry Potter. I don't know why I even bother; really I don't. I KNOW I'll be disappointed, I know it. I have been every single flippin' time. The books are so vivid, so textured and so real to me, I already see it in my head when I'm reading it and I don't need it put to film to visualize it. But this time? This time I'm more disappointed than I've ever been. The omisison of certain events has just completely baffled me; and the addition of at least one that was totally unnecessary and never even happened. Brad even agrees with me, and most of the time he just tells me to lighten up and get over it.
I feel a bit better now that I've ranted.
Brad and I are going to go see Harry Potter in a few hours. While I'm excited about the prospect of a few hours alone with my husband, I'm pretty ambivalent about the movie. We've read all the books, and love them dearly, and the movies are just so flat to me in comparison. I can't seperate the two. I always have this problem with movies made from books I love. I'm dreading The Lovely Bones in December, I LOVED that book, but am hoping that Peter Jackson directing will make it great. Anyway.
I've been scrapping like a maniac, my scraproom looks like a tornado hit it. Which is especially unfortunate because I just spent hours cleaning. But oh well. I can't share most of it, yet, but I can share a few.
I made this using the brand spankin' new Sassafrass. It's delicious.
And a few new American Crafts pages.
