Studio Calico Handmade Reveal!

Hi everyone! Happy Studio Calico reveal night! So excited for this month, for a few reasons. I love the kits, especially those butterfly stamps in add-on 3 and the exclusive SC paper in the main! And that yellow striped Pink Paislee paper in add-on 3? Current #1 favorite sheet of paper.  I also LOVE the December Daily add-on - more about that towards the bottom of this post!

For ‘Fancy’, I cut the gigantic butterfly with my Silhouette, and then layered tons of papers and embellishments. I used Bonny Blue Mister Huey for the Silhouette cut doily and Prima Chalk ink in Moss Lawn and Teal Damask (with some clear Zing on top) for the butterflies. Love the fun feel to this page!

This is one of my favorites this month, mostly just because of the soft and muted feel. I used some clear American Crafts Zing on top of the Prima Vintage Pink chalk ink for the butterfly stamps from add-on 3. I made the big rosette by crumpling up the newsprint paper from add-on 3 and just twisting it and stapling it with my Tiny Attacher until i got the look I wanted.

This page is actually a lift, but of myself. I cut small rectangles of patterned paper and just layered them around and around to create the pinwheels. I attached them with my Tiny Attacher and added my favorite foam adhesive underneath to give a little movement. I misted the Jenni Bowlin chipboard alphas from add-on 2 with Heirloom Blue Mister Huey and then added some Calico Shine Mister Huey on top. My first time using the Calico Shine and I love it!

This page was created using the Main kit only.  I cut up the pink SC exclusive die cut paper and adhered some on top of the yellow paper and then flipped it over to layer some under the blue punched circle. I rubbed Prima Chalk Ink in Teal Damask on the chipboard banner and then covered with Glossy Accents. Oh, and I edged the Silhouette cut heart with Prima Old rose chalk ink.

My goal for this page was lots of layers and a garland sort of wrapping on the bottom. I cut some circles from the red October Afternoon patterned paper in add-on 1 and added little bits and pieces here and there. Also, i can not say enough about the Pink Paislee wood shop alphas from add-on 3. Absolute favorite.

I also LOVE the December Daily add-on. It is PACKED full of papers, embellishments, alphas and comes with an exclusive limited-edition Mister Huey. I’ve completed almost 20 pages and still have a ton left over to finish up my album! I’ve never done a December Daily before, so this was all new to me, but I’m so excited to finish. I made a bunch of pre-made pages, (I did leave a few pages un-done, but not many!) some of them I left the facing pages blank so I could fill them up with photos. I really think that having it done already will help keep me motivated this December to document every moment of the joy and wonder of the season. So excited about that.

I used that limited edition Mister Huey on images I cut with my Silhouette, I really, really love that color. I will say that it was pretty difficult for me to complete this without photos, but it was really fun and I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished. Besides, I am aware that there is NO WAY I’d complete it in December, so this will work better for me in the long run. Also, I plan to add some bits and pieces in the middle of some pages, ala Ali Edwards. I also plan to not use page protectors and just punch holes to add my pages to the album. I’ve inserted my December Daily album as a slideshow, if you give it juuuust a sec and then click on the center it will play for you. I just couldn’t see inserting 16 images, my post would be 20 feet long.:)

Hope you guys enjoyed this reveal!
