Excuse me while I get (really) sappy.
I’ve been involved in the scrapbooking industry for almost 10 years, and have had so many amazing opportunities. On the top of that list would be, for me, working for Studio Calico, being a Garden Girl, being a member of the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team, as well as designing for a lot of other amazing companies, including American Crafts, Prima, Sassafras, Fancy Pants, SIS TV and others. I’ve traveled, met women from all over the globe, made some great friendships and have gotten to do some really fun things that I will remember forever. I’ve been fortunate to have been published quite a bit, and have a copy of every single publication I’ve had artwork in. I’m very proud of each one of them. I’ve had the opportunity to teach something I love to a lot of talented women, and have learned and grown myself each time I’ve done so. I’ve learned a lot about business, marketing, and myself, and have had some great mentors along the way. Scrapbooking has been a very large part of my life for a very long time, and I will be forever grateful to the day I did a Google search for ‘unique wedding album’ and stumbled upon 2Peas, as well as to the people who’ve had faith in me and given me the opportunities I’ve had.
Now, though, it’s time for me to step away from the scissors. This was not an easy decision to make, but it was one I’ve been considering for a few years now. My girls are young and growing before my eyes and I want to spend each precious moment I can with them. I love paper and glue and scrapbooking and can’t see myself not doing it ever again, but if so, I’ve accomplished everything I’ve wanted to in this industry, even some things I never dreamed of.
I’ve still got a few projects up my sleeve; my December Studio Calico reveal will be live in 2 days (loved this month’s kits!) and I’ve got an exciting project with Studio Calico to be revealed soon. I’ll be doing some freelance work for CHA – but other than that, I don’t plan to make a scrapbook page for some time. And that feels really, really good right now.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, believed in me or just been my friend. I am grateful for each one of you. I still plan to internet stalk you all and will be cheering you on, albeit from the sidelines.
